I just read a blog where the writer misspelled "weird." They followed the old "i before e except after c" rule. But "weird" is an exception to that rule. In other words, "weird" is weird.
That was probably me and I do it all the time. I'm wierd so I leave it that way, even tho I know it's the other way. It's one of those typos I can't take time to fix. LOL.
Weird is not one of the words that makes me pause. It's "gauge" that always throws me. I spell it right and it doesn't look right to me. I keep wanting to spell it "guage."
